Bulgarian Revelry in the Heart of Cambridge

December 2007

Every year, the Revels production company explores a different region of the globe, bringing folk music and dance traditions alive for local audiences. This year the cast journeyed to the Balkans, creating a gorgeous village full of complex harmonies, brilliant dancing, and beautiful textiles. Tatiana served as music consultant to the Revels' artistic and music directors, helping create a beautiful, powerful program of music relating to the Balkan winter traditions and rituals. She also coached the huge chorus of adults and children, and featured artists Libana, to help make a gorgeous Balkan sound. Audience members delighted, and Daniel Gewertz of the Boston Globe said "The 37th annual Christmas Revels is one of the finest within memory." Indeed!
