Ms. Sarbinska is a world-renowned Balkan vocalist and teacher. Tatiana's amazing vocal prowess is matched by her magnetic stage presence and her charismatic delivery. Born in the village of Rila in Bulgaria, she rose quickly through the ranks of the finest Bulgarian state choruses to become one of the preeminent soloists of her generation.

For many years, she was the featured soloist of the internationally acclaimed Pirin Ensemble. With Pirin, she toured extensively and made numerous recordings and TV films, earning "national treasure" status and renown as "the voice of Bulgaria." Her extensive repertoire includes music from all of Bulgaria's folklore regions

"Tatiana Sarbinska is a native of an extremely interesting folklore region — one that combines of two large ethnographic areas — Pirin and Shop. Her voice has the qualities typical of these regions — the lightness, lyricism, and the wide range of the Pirin vocalists along with the extremely interesting artistic ornamentation, brilliance and virtuosi touch of the Shop songs."

In 2004, the University of Maryland hired Tatiana to be the music director for their production of the Greek tragedy, Trojan Women. Tatiana composed and arranged music for the Greek chorus and taught the players to sing in Balkan style.

Tatiana was the recipient of the Washington Area Music Award (Wammy) for World Music Vocalist, 2004. She performed for the Wammies gala event at the newly opened Strathmore Music Center.
